Scott K. DeFoe

SCOTT K. DEFOE, of Follansbee, WV, fulfilled his lifelong dream of walking with Jesus for eternity on April 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Billings, Montana, on January 10, 1976. He was 48 years old and died after a long series of health complications. Scott’s true passion was his family. Scott had a heart for missions. He helped build a church in the slums of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2013, and since then supported missions worldwide. He loved sports, memorizing statistics, following sporting news, and his beloved Denver Broncos. He was also interested in movies, history, and end-times theology. He was proud to serve in the military and to serve his church in various capacities. He was a member of Wellsburg First Church of the Nazarene. Scott is survived by his devoted family: wife of 24 years, Lori (Tomshack) DeFoe; Dakotah DeFoe, 15; Grace DeFoe, 11; and Micah DeFoe, 9; a brother, Eric DeFoe; parents-in-law Larry and Connie Tomshack; and sister-in-law, JoAnne and her husband Sam Simoes, and their children, Hannah, Isabel, and Colin Simoes; Scott joins his Parents, Rudolph and Susan DeFoe in Glory. He will be greatly missed by his family, church, and friends. A Life Celebration memorial service was held Saturday, April 6, 2024, with Pastor Sam Simoes officiating at the Wellsburg First Church of the Nazarene, Wellsburg. Full Military honors were conducted by the United States Army and the Ohio Valley Veteran Memorial Squad. Inurnment was held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Nazarene Missions International at the Wellsburg First Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements were under the direction of the Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee.
