Tamara Ann “Tammy” (West) McClure

TAMARA ANN “TAMMY” (WEST) MCCLURE, 63, of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2024, at U.P.M.C. Montefiore in Pittsburgh, PA after a lengthy illness. Born on June 9, 1960, in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late George Samuel and Lora (Thomaselli) West, Sr. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, George Samuel West, Jr. and Ricky J. West along with her infant nephew, James A. West. She enjoyed caring for cats, decorating for Christmas, starting in late October, and being on the river with friends. Tammy was a daredevil. She loved being on the river in her jet ski, loved the water and snow skiing. She collected and restored antiques with wood-working and upholstery. She also loved clothes and fashion. She graduated from Brooke High School in 1979 and obtained her insurance degree from Jefferson Technical College. Tamara retired from Brooke County Schools where she worked as a custodian and previously worked for Mondi Bag, Smurfit Stone Container, the Anchor Room Restaurant, and the famous Brown Derby Restaurant in California. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Wellsburg, WV. Tamara is survived by her two brothers, Ronald W. (Sandra) West of Cranberry Township, PA and Thomas J. West of Atlanta, GA; a nephew, Brian West and niece Jennifer West, and two great nephews, Samuel J. West and Gabriel Kukkonen; two aunts, Lena Thomaselli Chappel of Washington, PA and Pauline Thomaselli of Davenport, FL; and many cousins. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral liturgy at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg, with the Rev. Father Justin Golna as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in Franklin Cemetery Wellsburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either the Brooke County Animal Rescue League or the Brooke County Animal Shelter.
