James Warren “Jim” Ferguson

JAMES WARREN “JIM” FERGUSON, 89, passed away April 14, 2024. He was the son of Lester and Irene Dick Ferguson of Wellsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 64 years. Jim had a very successful career as a journeyman/electrician, with I.B.E.W. Local 246 out of Steubenville, and received his 65-year pin with honor. He worked with his father, two brothers, and his son on several jobs. Jim was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed hunting in the beautiful state of Colorado, which was a big highlight of his life. He was a prior member of the Brooke County Sportsman’s Club in Wellsburg. Jim had a passion for working on cars and tinkering with just about anything He could get his hands on. Jim also loved making “Beautiful” vegetable Gardens and reaping the bounty. Jim is survived by his daughter, Debbie Ferguson Stewart (Bowen) of Louisiana; his grandson, The Reverend Daniel Stewart (Stephanie); son, Eric Ferguson and his granddaughters Erica and Kayli Ferguson; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Ferguson (Edie) and Richard Ferguson (Pam) and his sister, Linda Green, all of Wellsburg, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Reasner Funeral Home, Wellsburg. Private family Committal service was held at Franklin Cemetery Chapel on Thursday, April 18, 2024. Prior to being placed in a care facility in March, Jim’s Children, Debbie and Eric, would like to “honor” the wonderful “in home” caregivers Paula Schmidt, Mary McAllister, and Beverly Webster. These Women provided love, honesty, compassion and integrity, along with giving Jim the V.I.P treatment, by bringing that love to Jim every single day. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jim’s Memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Hospital or to the charity of your choosing.
