JEFFREY ALLEN TARR, 66, of Wellsburg, WV died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at home. Born on March 11, 1958, in Weirton, WV, a son of Norman and Johann (O’Connell) Tarr of Wellsburg, WV. Jeff graduated from Linsly High School in 1976 and went on to graduate from West Liberty University. Jeff was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In his earlier years he coached Wellsburg Youth Baseball and served as a Wellsburg Councilman. Over the years he held memberships in the Wellsburg Loyal Order of Moose #1564 and the Cedar Lodge in Follansbee, WV. Jeff was a friend to all who came into contact with him and enjoyed sharing his wealth of sports knowledge along with attending and watching many sports events. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Janice (Havelka) Tarr at home; two children, Derek Tarr and wife Jessica of Annandale, VA and Megan Bodenham and husband, Lee of London, UK; two granddaughters, Lola Bodenham and Caedyn Tarr; his sister, Diane Rasz and husband Michael of Wellsburg, WV and nephew, Aleksey Rasz; father-in-law, Joseph Havelka of Follansbee, WV; three brothers-in-law, Joe Havelka, Michael Havelka, and Jason Havelka; and sister-in-law, Jodi Westling; aunt Katie O’Connell of Wellsburg; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
