Lucille Marie (Reck) Best

LUCILLE MARIE (RECK) BEST, 93, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Trinity Medical Center, Steubenville, OH. Lucille was born on March 16, 1931 in McKinleyville, WV. She was the daughter of the late John Reck and Beatrice (Bensie) Reck. Lucille worked as a cook for 24 years at Bethany School through the Brooke County Board of Education. She is a member of the WV Association of Retired School Employees. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, John L. “Pat” Best; a son, John “Patsy” Best; infant son, Richard; a son-in-law, Richard Brooks; two sisters, Kathryn Stillwell and Wanda Leach; and three brothers, John, Paul and William Reck. Lucille is survived by her two children, Glenda Brooks and James Best and wife, Annette, all of Wellsburg, WV; a daughter-in-law, Terry Best; three grandchildren, Johnny Best, Tracy Lazear and husband, Shawn and Olivia Best; four great grandchildren: Kayla McAllister and husband, Aaron, John Michael Lazear (Meikka), Shane Lazear and Ashley Poarch (Eric); eight great-great grandchildren: Gavin, Brooke, Sadie, AJ, Michael, Ameilia, Jozlynn, Aubrie; and several nieces and nephews. A private family gathering and funeral service was held at Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, with Minister Larry Lemasters officiating, with Interment following privately at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg.
