David Wesley Yaussy

DAVID WESLEY YAUSSY, 78, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at his residence under the care of his son, Matthew with the assistance of Valley Hospice. David was born on May 30, 1946 in Follansbee, WV. He was the son of the late William Harry and Madeline R. (Schmidt) Yaussy. David served his country proudly as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as an Electronics Technician operating Solid State Sales and Service in Wellsburg, WV. He was a former member of the Wellsburg Kiwanis faithfully engaging in regular club functions and fundraisers. Many will remember David for his love of painting and playing guitar in many local bands. He was also an avid tennis player participating in local tournaments. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his three siblings: Patricia Davis, Carolyn Serevicz and Robert Yaussy. David is survived by his two children, David Wesley Yaussy and his wife, Michelle of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Matthew Yaussy and his wife, Abbey of Newell, WV; three grandchildren: David, Emma and Adelaide Yaussy; two siblings: John and his wife, Sharon and Suzanne; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Chambers Funeral Homes of Wellsburg was honored and privileged to serve the Yaussy Family with a private graveside service at Brooke Cemetery, Wellsburg, with Military Honors by the WV Army National Guard and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
