ISABEL “DOLLY” CAPARROS, of Weirton, WV was peacefully called to be with the Lord, on August 4, 2024. She was born in Weirton, WV., on September 29, 1939, Isabel was one of four born to her loving parents Ramon and Rosa (Ampudia) Caparros who immigrated to America from Andalucia, Spain in 1912. A proud graduate of the Weir High class of 1956, K-Mart in Weirton employed her for three decades. She loved working around people and planning staff luncheons with elaborate dishes. Before that, she had worked for Nick Monesis at Royal Pastry (Gus’s Goodies), helping decorate cakes. Isabel loved baking and cooking for her family and carried on the tradition of family dinners with traditional Spanish dishes of paella, Montecados, chorizo, and Pestinos. Isabel was very giving and had a great bond with several neighbors who were always there to assist when needed and she would reciprocate with baked goods. She had a great eye for detail and uniqueness and would proudly display her skills with elaborately decorated Christmas trees each year. She loved tackling home projects herself, including painting well into her seventies. Isabel also loved her time at the beach in Topsail and would collect shells to display at home. Isabel will be remembered by many for her 1978 Black Trans Am that she purchased when she was in her forties. She drove that car for over thirty years, often being challenged at a red light by the driver never expecting to see an older woman at the wheel. In addition to her parents, Isabel was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond (Dora) Caparros, sister Juanita (Lou) Vagnozzi, and brother-in-law, Richard Peters. She is survived by her sister, Rose Peters, nieces and nephews, Dianne (Tom) Vagnozzi, Holecek, Victor, Asher, and Natasha, Buck Caparros, Kelly, Leah, and Sam, Ramaine (Mike) Turrentine. Isabel’s request for cremation has been honored. She was cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home Crematory, Weirton. There was no visitation, as per her request. The family will hold a Celebration of Life dinner in her honor at a later date. Isabel supported many national and local charities, especially those dedicated to animals.
