Rosalind Jean Morris

ROSALIND JEAN MORRIS, 80, of Weirton, WV passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the Weirton Geriatric Center. She was one of three children born to Delbert J. and Betty Parke Smith, on September 12, 1943. Rosalind earned her Franco Beauty Academy Beautician License in 1962 and went on to further her education by obtaining a licensed practical nursing degree in 1984. She dedicated over thirty years of her life to caring for others at Eagle Point and Worthington Nursing Facilities in Parkersburg, WV. Her compassion and commitment to her profession left a lasting impact on her colleagues and patients. Rosalind was an avid flower and vegetable gardener who found joy in nurturing her plants and sharing their bounty. She also enjoyed horseback riding, a passion that reflected her adventurous spirit. As a foster mom to countless children, she provided a loving and supportive home, impacting the lives of countless young ones. A devout Seventh Day Adventist Church member, Rosalind’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was known for her patience, strength, and unwavering kindness. She never met a stranger, and her warm, welcoming nature made her beloved by all at the geriatric center. Rosalind had a unique love for the music of Trace Adkins and Rob Zombie, highlighting her open-mindedness and ability to appreciate diverse perspectives. She accepted people for who they were and created a home that was always immaculate, ready to welcome any visitor at a moment’s notice. Rosalind Jean Morris will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and open-hearted acceptance will live on in the hearts of those she touched. In addition to her parents, Rosalind was preceded in death by her son Mark A. Fetty, and her daughter Amanda J. Fetty. Left to honor her memory with love and continued gratitude are her husband, Edwin R. Morris of Weirton, sons Scott Fetty of Dover, OH., Jason T. (Marcia) Fetty of League City, TX., daughters Amy J. (Christopher) Homer of Weirton, Shirley A. Kirby of Washington state, and Amber R. Morris of Colliers, sisters Leslie (Dennis) Jancart of Burgettstown, and Denise Sparks of Pittsburgh, additionally, she is survived by several grandchildren and few great-grandchildren. Rosalind’s request for cremation has been honored. She was cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home Crematory, Weirton. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled by her family at a later date.
