Richard Jason Truax

RICHARD JASON TRUAX, 52, of Weirton, WV passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Born and raised in Weirton, Richard was one of seven children born to Dallas and Maryann Zias Truax on June 25, 1972. A proud lifelong resident of Weirton, Richard graduated from Weir High School in 1990 and went on to work in the construction industry as a roofer, dedicating his skills to the local community. Richard was a man who loved the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and found joy in the pages of John Grisham novels. His love for the outdoors led him to spend many happy days exploring Raccoon State Park, where he found peace in nature’s beauty. Above all, Richard cherished his family. He adored his daughter, Annie, and treasured the time spent with his siblings. His faithful companion, Cocoa, was always by his side, providing comfort and companionship. Richard’s sudden passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His family and friends will forever remember his kind spirit, his love for his family, and his passion for the simple joys of life. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister Michelle Yergin and her husband Billy, and brothers Edward and Kevin Truax. Richard is survived by his beloved daughter Annie Truax of Weirton, brothers Jeffrey (Kelly) Truax of Washington, PA., David Truax of Tiltonsville, OH., Daniel (Paula) Truax of Wheeling, his former wife Honey Noble Truax, his loyal dog Cocoa, and many nieces and nephews. Richard’s request for cremation has been honored. He was cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home Crematory, Weirton. A Celebration of Richard’s life will be held at the convenience of his family.
