MARY POPOVICH, 87, a beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted member of her church, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Advent Health in Daytona Beach, Florida, with her cherished granddaughter Allura by her side. Born on October 2, 1936, in Weirton, West Virginia, Mary was one of four children born to John and Vasillia Siderakis Mousadis. She graduated from Weir High School in 1953 and was employed at the Credit Bureau in Steubenville, Ohio. She was a lifelong All Saints Greek Orthodox Church member and the Ladies Philoptochos Society. Mary shared a deep love of travel with her late husband, Michael who sadly passed away on January 20, 2012. Together they enjoyed creating many memories that would last a lifetime. She enjoyed spending time in Daytona Beach, Florida where she could be close to her granddaughter Allura who was the apple of her eye and source of pride. In addition to her parents and husband Michael, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, James Mousadis, and his wife Effie, and brother-in-law Victor Frangopoulos. She is survived by her beloved son Christopher Popovich, granddaughter Allura Popovich, brother Jack Pete (Toni) Mousadis of Chicago, IL., and sister Claudette Frangopoulos of Racine, WI. Also, she is survived by many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. Visitation was held on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton. where Trisagion Services were also held on Sunday. Additional visitation was held on Monday, August 26, 2024 until the time of funeral services at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Weirton, with Fr. Matthew Moore presiding. Mary was laid to rest next to her husband at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Florence, PA.
