NINA Y. MAHAN of Bellaire, OH formerly from West Alexander, PA and Wellsburg, WV passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Liza’s Place. She is the daughter of the late Anthony J Leo and Ruth Camilletti Leo. Born July 4, 1948 in Wheeling WV. She is preceded in death by her son Patrick W. Mahan of New Cumberland, WV. Nina graduated from Wellsburg High in 1966. She became owner of Davis’ Market in West Alexander, PA where she was known as the grocery godmother to kids of West Alexander. She was also a recipient of the “Citizen of the Year” award from West Alexander. Surviving is her son David Mahan (Anita), daughter-in-law Penny Mahan, grandchildren Jessie Mahan (Morgan), David Mahan and Lauren Mahan. Also, great-grandchildren Braylon Mahan, Blaise Mahan and Jaxon Mahan all of New Cumberland, WV. Siblings include Anthony Leo (Christine) of Pinehurst, NC, Debbie Rielly (Jack) of Little River, NC, Janice West (Gary Devendra) of Bellaire, OH, Cynthia Adkins (Orbie) of Medina, OH, Michael J Leo, (JoLynn), of Wheeling, WV. A very special thank you to Nina’s dear friend Essie Taylor who assisted Nina’s needs throughout her illness. A mass will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Bellaire, OH at 11:00am. A luncheon will follow at Mehlman’s Cafeteria in St. Clairsville, OH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Valley Hospice and Liza’s Place.
