HOMER HARLAN HENTHORN, 93, of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2024, at home with his family by his side. He was born on September 21, 1930, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Homer and Virginia (Lombardi) Henthorn, Sr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris Henthorn on August 16, 2024; one daughter, Kimberly Henthorn; one brother, John Henthorn; two sisters, Beatrice Spencer and Pauline Butler; and three grandchildren, Jonathon and Michelle Lemasters, and Troy Henthorn. Homer graduated from Wellsburg High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked and retired from Timet Titanium Metals in Toronto, OH. He was a member of the Wellsburg Church of Christ. In his spare time, he loved to be outdoors. You could find him outside either in the garden, riding his tractor, hunting in the woods, or fishing anywhere he could. He also was quite the singer; in church he was one of their song leaders. Homer is survived by two sons, Bruce (Darlene) Henthorn and Chris (June) Henthorn both of Wellsburg, WV; one sister; Shirley Graham of Melbourne, FL; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation for Homer was held on Friday, September 6, 2024 and again on Saturday, September 7, 2024 until the time of the funeral service, with Evangelist Vernon Teagarden officiating, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee. Full Military Honors were conducted by the US Army and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad. Interment followed at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.mullenbachfh.com.
