James Joseph Alleman

JAMES JOSEPH ALLEMAN, 91, of Point Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Overbrook Rehabilitation Center in Middleport, OH. He was born June 15, 1933, in Beech Bottom, WV, a son of the late George Washington Alleman and Thelma Agusta (Rickman) Alleman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Jeffrey Alleman; sisters, Arlene Tredway and Evelyn “Pooch” Griffin; an infant sister; and brothers, Don Alleman and Darrell Alleman. Jim was a member of the Wellsburg Christian Church in Wellsburg, WV and attended Heights United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant. He was a retired Human Resource Manager from the James M. Gavin Power Plant in Cheshire, OH. Jim served his country in the United States Army from 1953-1955. He was also Past Master and member of the Wellsburg Masonic Lodge No. 2 AF&AM, Scottish Rite of Wheeling, WV, and Osiris Shriners in Wheeling. Jim was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Judith J. (Kirchner) Alleman; son and daughter-in-law, J. Joseph “JJ” and Sarah Alleman of Lexington, KY; daughter-in-law, Susanna Alleman of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren: Samuel Alleman, Emily (John Roberts) Alleman, Hannah Adkins, Benjamin Alleman and Jesse Alleman; and great-grandchildren: Ella Roberts, Nora Roberts, Finn Roberts and Eli Roberts. Visitation was held Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant. A graveside service and burial was also held Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Military graveside honors were given by the Stewart-Johnson VFW Post # 9926 of Mason and Masonic Rites by Minturn Lodge #19 AF&AM of Point Pleasant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 110 Conn Terrace, Lexington, KY 40508.
