Melvin Augustus Colley, Sr.

MELVIN AUGUSTUS COLLEY, SR., 91, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away suddenly on his front porch swing on Thursday, September 19, 2024 with his wife by his side. Melvin was born on November 2, 1932 in Wellsburg, WV. He was the son of the late Calvert Calvin Colley and Hazel Virginia (Schwertfeger) Colley. Melvin served proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He retired after 43 years from Koppers Industries as an Instrument Electrician. In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his siblings. Melvin is survived by his wife, Alberta (Fox) Colley; two children, Kathy Buono and her husband, John of Follansbee, WV and Melvin A. Colley Jr. and his companion, Kathy Stewart of McKinleyville, WV; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
