Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club Exhibit to Open at Summit Art Gallery

The Upper Ohio Valley Camera Club (UOVCC) will feature its members at a new photography exhibit at the Summit Art Gallery on Wednesday, October 9th. The Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau and Arts Council (TWVAC) are excited to partner with the club once again to display all the winning pictures from the UOVCC’s September Annual Competition. The competition consists of 16 different categories, and all images were taken using digital and film cameras as well as cell phone photography. Members exhibiting photos are from West Virginia and Ohio.
Originally known as the Steubenville Camera Club, UOVCC was established in 1974 in Steubenville, Ohio and is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The name adapted later to be more inclusive to additional members from West Virginia and Ohio. The club meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in Wintersville, Ohio. Meetings at the Two Ridges Presbyterian Church Hall are free and open to persons of all ages and experience levels. More information about the club can be found on their Facebook page, or at uovcc.org.
The participating photographers will be present during the opening reception on Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served during this free event. The exhibition will be on display at the Summit Art Gallery through Wednesday, Oct. 30 during normal gallery hours, 9:30 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Summit Gallery recently relocated to 243 Three Springs Drive, Suite 17, Weirton in the Top of WV CVB (next to Weirton Pet Spa).
