Jo Ann Morrison

JO ANN MORRISON, 86, of Paris, PA passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024, at home surrounded by family. She was born May 5, 1938, in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late William Clay and Betty Dowler Allen. She was also preceded in death by husband David L Morrison and brother William C Allen (late Marian). Jo Ann attended Bethany College where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and went on to teach for many years in the Burgettstown School District. Jo Ann was active in the First Christian Church of Weirton serving as Elder, Deacon, Choir member, teacher and friend to all. She was also a member of the Weirton Marina Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her hobbies included boating, gardening, and tutoring students in preparation for their GED in mathematics at the Weirton Library. She was the recipient of the Tri State Area Master Gardeners’ Golden Shovel Award in 2013. Surviving are children, David Mark Morrison (Suzanne), Kirk Allen Morrison (Leslie), Lori Morrison Massaro (Tony); grandchildren, Zachary Morrison, Aaron Morrison (Katie), Sam Morrison (Deidre), Ben Morrison, Stacey Reid (Zachary), Kristopher Massaro (Gail); great- grandchildren, Isla, Emma and Ramona, Bailey and Miles, Austin, Nina and Leo; sister, Nancy Allen Valles (Louis) and devoted niece Vickie Joseph; loving aunt to nieces and nephews, Joe, Sara, Tresi, Lisa, Chris, Tom, Martha and Mary. Visitation was held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Weirton. Additional visitation was held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the funeral home until time of the funeral service, with Reverend Mark Mayer presiding. Interment followed at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
