LARRY DWAYNE BAKER, 75, of Weirton, WV passed away peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Weirton Medical Center. Born on Sunday, November 7, 1948, in Steubenville, OH, Larry was the oldest of four children to Drexall and Patricia Anderson Baker. A proud graduate of Follansbee High School, Class of 1966, Larry built a lifelong career at the Tin Mill Department of Weirton Steel, retiring after decades of hard work and dedication. Larry was a man of deep faith, a member of the Nazarene church, and shared his love for gospel music as part of his beloved quartet, Glory Land. He enjoyed listening to the Gaithers and sharing his faith through song. He was also a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, never missing a game, and had a passion for NASCAR, often traveling up to 400 miles to enjoy dirt track racing. On July 22, 1967, Larry married the love of his life, Jeanne Ann Campbell, after they met at the Follansbee Roller Rink during her teenage years. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with cherished memories and adventures. Sadly, Jeanne passed away on January 11, 2024, but their journey together remained Larry’s greatest treasure. He continued to find joy in reminiscing about their trips to the Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg, and Sugar Creek, where they made many happy memories. Larry adored his grandchildren, often spending time with them and recalling the adventures he shared with Jeanne. He also found solace in visiting the family home in Florida and recently enjoyed a final trip to Sugar Creek, where he recounted his travels with his beloved wife. Larry’s faith, love for his family, and zest for life will forever be remembered. He leaves behind a legacy of love, music, and cherished memories. Larry was additionally preceded in death by his parents.
