Christopher John Crago

CHRISTOPHER JOHN CRAGO, 54, of Weirton, WV, passed away on October 10, 2024. Born on February 21, 1970, in Weirton, WV, Chris was the youngest of six children born to Donald W. and Irene J. Gromek Crago. A graduate of Weirton Madonna High School, Chris went on to further his education at West Liberty State College after working a summer at Weirton Steel. During college, Chris met the love of his life, Tara Anne Santorino. On December 18, 1992, Chris and Tara were married and were ultimately blessed with three children. A man of many talents, Christopher was highly intelligent and could fix anything with his hands. He enjoyed working in construction and was passionate about every project he set his mind to. He expressed his love for life through music, as a gifted guitarist, and through poetry, capturing the beauty of the world in words. His connection with nature was profound, often found outdoors observing the details many overlook. In addition, he had a remarkable appreciation for the little things in life. A fantastic chef, Chris will be remembered as a sensitive soul, always thoughtful and caring toward others. His faith was strong, and he was at peace, knowing he was right with God. Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Donald W. Crago on December 24, 1992. In addition to his mother, Irene, Chris will also be remembered with love by his wife, Tara Anne Satornino Crago; his children, Ryan (Ash) Crago of Bulger, PA, Abby Crago of Fort Collins, CO, and Will Crago of Weirton, WV.; his brothers, Don Crago of Erie, PA, Timothy (Tammy) Crago of York, SC; his sisters, Susan “Sue” (Jill) Crago of Florence, MA, Kathryn “Kathy” (Rodney) Elliott of Morgantown, WV, and Renee (Jim) Jobes of Parkersburg, WV. Friends and family were invited to honor Chris’s life at a visitation at Sacred Heart of Mary Church, Weirton, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial. In memory of Christopher’s compassionate heart, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or to the Community Bread Basket.
