Marguerite J. Cercone

MARGUERITE J. CERCONE, 95, of Follansbee, WV, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Grace Cottage in Weirton, WV. Born on January 25, 1929, in Follansbee, WV, Marguerite was the daughter of the late John and Theresa (Bonaventura) Cercone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dora B. Cercone; her brothers, Concezio “Jack” Cercone, Gino Cercone, and John “Bluegrass” Cercone; and her sisters-in-law, Theresa Cercone, Jenny Cercone, and Helen Cercone. A graduate of Follansbee High School, Class of 1947, Marguerite was a faithful member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, participating in the Altar and Rosary Society. Known for her dedication and professionalism, Marguerite spent her career as a loan officer with American Investors, Barclay’s, American Financial, and Public Finance, and later as an office manager with Gold Key Credit Corporation and Davis Leasing. Marguerite is survived by eight beloved nieces and nephews, whom she cherished as her own children: Dr. David (Amy) Cercone of Las Vegas, NV; Rich (Pam) Cercone of Powell, OH; Dr. Ron (Joan) Cercone of Wexford, PA; Gary (Beth Ann) Cercone of Kissimmee, FL; Lori (Jeff) Andrew of Marietta, GA; Mark Cercone of Jackson, MI; Steven (Karen) Cercone of Spotsylvania, VA; and Jacqueline Cercone of Powell, OH; 14 treasured great-nieces and nephews, including Aaron (Jessica) Cercone, Nathan Cercone, Sarah (Andrew) Cercone Kieta, Kady (Parker) Chivington, John Andrew, Dr. Dominic (Dr. Angelica) Cercone, Annie (Michael Fox) Cercone, Samantha (Kelvin) Martinez, Gina (Eric) Crespo, Carley Andrew, Connor Cercone, Alec Andrew, Gabrielle Cercone, and Nicholas Cercone; eight adored great-great nieces and nephews; Marguerite’s special cousins Dr. Marguerite (Dr. Bob Kraemer) Bonaventura, Pamela Bonaventura, James (Mary Lou) Bonaventura, Panfilo (Marie) Bonaventura, and Beverly Bonaventura. The family would like to thank the management and staff at Serra Manor for your kindness and the loving treatment they provided to Marguerite during her time there; Rhonda Quatrocchi, nurses Melissa and Rhonda, and countless others who made every day special. Visitation for Marguerite will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 4-7 p.m., with a vigil service being held at 6:30 pm and again on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m., at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 10 a.m., with Father Gerald Muoka officiating, at St. Anthony Catholic Church 1017, Follansbee.
