Thomas Joseph Stein

THOMAS JOSEPH STEIN, 75, of Follansbee, WV, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at the Mary Jane Brooks Valley Hospice Care Center, Steubenville, OH. Thomas was born on August 22, 1949 in Wheeling, WV. He was the son of the late Audrey Tate. Thomas served his country proudly in the United States Army and United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War with two tours of active combat receiving the Vietnam Service Medal with a bronze star, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Devices, two overseas bars and the armed forces expeditionary medal. Thomas worked at Banner Fiberboard as a machinist on the printing press. Many will remember Thomas for his love of riding his motorcycle and as a member of the Barbarians. Thomas is survived by his wife of 52 years, Charlene (Kush) Stein; two sons, Jonathan Hayes Stein and Daniel Anthony Stein; three granddaughters, Riley Stein, Elizabeth Fay and Brooke Fay; five siblings: Donna, Pam, Rita, Anthony and Lucille; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private burial was held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA with Military Honors. The James Funeral Home of Follansbee was honored to assist with a simple veteran’s cremation and coordination of military and burial honors.
