JOHN LEE PARR, JR., 62, of Middlebourne, WV, formerly of Weirton and Wellsburg, WV, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at UPMC Washington, PA. John was born on January 6, 1962 in Sistersville, WV. He was the son of Wanda (Eddy) Parr and the late John Parr Sr. John was a graduate of Brooke High School. He went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps for six years. John was a member of the Indian Creek Southern Baptist Church, Alma, WV. He worked as a registered nurse in the Ohio Valley from Trinity Medical Center, Weirton Medical Center and Wheeling Medical Park. Many will remember John for his love of hunting, playing pool and a good political debate; but most of all, spending time at church and with his beloved family. In addition to his father, John was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Parr and a brother, Scott Parr. In addition to his mother, John is survived by his five children: Victoria Parr and her fiance, Jeremy Walton of Follansbee, WV, Ciera Parr, Makayla Parr and her husband, Adrian Bogayong of Virginia, Sgt. Mark Parr with the US Space Force stationed in Hawaii, and Jacob Parr and his wife, Alexis of Cadiz, OH; two grandchildren, Michael and Jaxon Parr, with an additional on the way; four siblings: Gary Parr of Wellsburg, WV, Neil Parr and his wife, Carol of Billiant, OH, Rita Parr-Lantz and her husband, Dave Lantz of Follansbee, WV and Brian Parr and his wife, Becky of Wellsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee and again on Saturday, November 2, 2024 until the time of the funeral service, at the Indian Creek Southern Baptist Church, Alma, WV with Military Honors by the United States Marine Corp. Interment followed at Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
