Alessa Renee Kraus

ALESSA RENEE KRAUS, 10, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, after a lifelong battle of Leigh Syndrome. Alessa was born on July 6, 2014, in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of Marcus Kraus of Follansbee, WV and the late Lindsey Renee Oiler. In addition to her mother Alessa is preceded in death by her maternal great grandfather, Michael “Mike” Cox; maternal great grandfather, Martin Oiler; paternal great grandmother, Helen Diserio; and two paternal great aunts, Melanie Silver and Michelle McAbee. Alessa attended Brooke County Schools and loved her time at Brooke Pre-School, Brooke Primary North, and Brooke Intermediate North in Follansbee, WV. She attended Follansbee Church of Christ. Alessa enjoyed the time spent with family and had an infectious smile for everyone she met. She also loved her Bluey and loved watching WWE wrestling with her daddy. In addition to her father, Alessa is survived by her paternal grandmother, Francine Kraus and companion Joe Tost of Wellsburg, WV; paternal grandfather, Mark Kraus of Wellsburg; paternal great grandfather, Alfred Diserio; maternal grandmother, Jennifer Tilton of Follansbee, WV; maternal grandfather, Marty (Mandi) Oiler of Colliers, WV; maternal great grandmother, Dottie Cox of Wellsburg; several aunts and uncles; Jill (Mike) Bachinski, Danielle Coen and husband, Sean Owings; and several great aunts, uncles and cousins. A private visitation and service was held at the convenience of the family. Alessa’s family would like to thank the staff at Valley Hospice for the care she received.
