Brooke High School senior Payton Adler, hosted a Fourth of July Pickleball Tournament in Wellsburg. She is an honor student at Brooke High and one of her requirements upon graduating with honors is conducting an honors project.
Adler is a member of the varsity soccer and tennis teams, where she has had great success. She has a love for pickleball and knows that there is a great interest in Wellsburg, both among her high school peers and community members.
Payton’s tournament was a huge success, hosting 20 teams, with prizes for first, second and third places. Ages of participants ranged from ages 14-75. First place winners of the tournament were Jimmy Sperlazza and Mike Whetsell. Payton raised $1,400 and is donating all proceeds to the Brooke High Tennis Team.
