John J. Aftanas, Jr.

JOHN J. AFTANAS, JR., 90, of Follansbee, WV, passed Friday, November 15, 2024 at Weirton Geriatric Center. He was born December 22, 1933 in Louise, WV, son of the late John J. Aftanas, Sr. and Katherine Wydra Aftanas. He is also preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. John was a US Army Veteran. He retired from Weirton Steel Corporation as a Pipefitter and Foreman. John was Catholic by faith. John is survived by his loving wife, Frances Sue Mark Aftanas; sons, Bruce Aftanas (Tammy) and Jeffrey J. Aftanas (Melanie); grandchildren, Megan Warner (Ryan), Drew Aftanas, Paul Aftanas, and Jordan Aftanas; and great-grandsons, Bradley, Owen, and Cole Warner. No visitation will be held. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Weirton.
