Mary Beth Smith

MARY BETH SMITH, 55, of Wheeling, WV, formerly of Weirton, WV passed unexpectedly Friday, November 8, 2024 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. She was born August 20, 1969 in Weirton, daughter of Betty Lemasters Riggs and the late Carl Riggs. Mary was a talented writer and novelist. She enjoyed her time reading, writing, spending time with her boys, and feeding ducks near her house. Mary worked for Williams Lea in Wheeling. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving sons, Tyler Smith, Jacob Smith, and Lucas Smith; brothers, David Riggs (Shawna McCafferty), James Riggs, and Thomas Riggs (Julia); and sister, Rhonda Pearson (Larry). Visitation was held Sunday, November 17, 2024 until the time of the service, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home, Weirton, with Pastor Jeremy McClimans presiding.
