Bethany College Esports Player Advances in ECAC Tekken 8 Playoffs

The Bethany College esports club celebrates an exciting milestone as junior Domonic Scruggs advances in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tekken 8 playoffs. Scruggs has quickly established himself as a standout in his first year on the team, impressing both teammates and competitors with his strategic gameplay and determination.
Finishing the regular season with a strong 5-2-0 record, Scruggs secured the ninth seed in the ECAC Tekken 8 rankings. His playoff journey began with a commanding victory over a skilled opponent from the University of South Florida. Now, with a 1-0 playoff record, he faced his next challenge, a high-stakes match against Fisher College, Friday, Nov. 22, at 8 p.m.
Scruggs is known for his calculated approach to competition, often reviewing match film to refine his strategies and perfect his character, Steve Fox. Balancing his academic and athletic schedule with the demands of competitive gaming, he is a regular presence at Bethany’s esports arena, where his dedication and focus set an example for his peers.
“This is an outstanding accomplishment for Domonic and our esports program,” says Esports Director Xavier Thomas. “His efforts showcase what it means to compete at a high level while representing Bethany College.”
