Terry A. Markle

TERRY A. MARKLE, 78, of Weirton, WV, passed Monday, November 18, 2024 at Brightwood Center, Follansbee. He was born September 11, 1946 in Weston, WV, son of the late Arthur and Ruth Stalnaker Markle. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Markle (January 2024); stepson, David Dennis (2023). Terry was an active member of Weirton Heights Church of Christ. He was a US Navy Veteran. Terry worked as an Electrician at Weirton Steel Corporation. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and absolutely loved being out in the woods, especially down in Tyler County on his property. He also enjoyed biking and anything outdoors. He loved to travel with his wife Dottie and spending time with his entire family. Terry was the type that would devote his time and energy to anyone in need. Terry is survived by his stepson, Brian Dennis; grandchildren, Tanner, Laken, Madison and Alexa Dennis; brothers, Elden and Phillip Markle (Rosie); sister, Susie Lighthiser (Rich); niece, Kelli Jones (AJ); and nephew, Allen Lighthiser (Dawn). Visitation was held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home, Weirton, followed by military honors at the funeral home, rendered by US Navy and American Legion Post No. 10 Honor Guards. The funeral service followed, with Evangelist Steve Smithbauer presiding. Interment was held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be left at www.steelandwolfe.com.
