Timothy Eugene Benson

TIMOTHY EUGENE BENSON, 61, of Weirton, WV died in a tragic accident on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in Weirton, WV. He was born on June 14, 1963, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Gloria (Stewart) Owens and Emil M. Benson, Sr. of Redding, CA. In addition to his mother, Tim was preceded in death by his first stepfather, Mike P. George and his second stepfather, Richard “Dick” Owens; along with two stepbrothers, Mike and James George. Tim graduated from Brooke High School Class of 1981. Early in life he was a truck driver who drove local and cross country. He was Apostolic by faith and was a member of the Voice of Pentecost Church of Weirton. In addition to his father, he is survived by one son, Alex McCutchen; one sister, Kimberly (Mark) Nicholson of Wellsburg, WV; two brothers, Emil “Skip” (Sherry) Benson, Jr. of Charleston, SC and Theodore George of Charleston, SC; two stepsisters, Maria George of Wellsburg, WV and Doreen (George) Thompson of MD; one special aunt who was always looking out for him, Christina (Leonard) Henline of Follansbee, WV; nine nieces and nephews: Heath (Nicole) Benson, Van Benson and fiancé Kim Dean, Matthew (Laura) Nicholson, Ann-Marie Thompson, Bruce Collins, Adrienne (Kelly) Kramer, Derrick and Dana George; and several great nieces, nephews, and cousins. All services and inurnment were held privately at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee.
