Doris Evelyn (Lynn) McCay

DORIS EVELYN (LYNN) MCCAY, 99, of Follansbee, WV, passed peacefully away on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Brickyard Healthcare – Portage Care Center, Portage, IN under the care of the staff with the assistance of Dunes Hospice. Doris was born on December 9, 1925. She was the daughter of the late George Alonzo Lynn and Mary (Myers) Lynn. Doris was a member of the Church of the Nazarene where she was very active along with the Senior Center in Follansbee, WV. Later in life, Doris moved to Portage, IN spending time with her daughter together they worked on Oil paintings. Many will remember Doris for her love of crocheting and being a wonderful cook. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew G. McCay, a son, Andrew L. McCay and his wife, Karen and all of her siblings. Doris is survived by her daughter, Dorothy “Dottie” Rippel and her husband, Bill; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received Thursday, December 26, 2024 and again on Friday, December 27, 2024 until the time of the funeral service, at James Funeral Home, Follansbee, with Pastor Larry Garrison, officiating.
