Joann (Staten) Capp

JOANN (STATEN) CAPP, 90, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at her residence under the care of her family with the assistance of Amedisys Hospice. Joann was born on January 26. 1934 in Wheeling, WV. She was the daughter of the late Walter Staten and Thelma (Schupbach) Staten. Joann was a homemaker that loved to bake and cook. Many will remember Joann for her love of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ernest Capp, and her four siblings, Robert “Bob”, Walter and Fred Staten and Jackie Wilson. Joann is survived by her son, Ernest Capp and his wife, Marianne; three grandchildren, Joshua Whitt, Jeremy Whitt and Jenna Wilson and her husband, Mark; two great grandchildren, Audrianna and George “Geo” Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received on Monday, December 30, 2024 and again on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 until the time of the funeral service, at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, with Minister Larry Lemasters, officiating. Interment followed at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Beech Bottom. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice, C/o 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV 26070.
