JULIA “JULIE” KATHLEEN BARNHART, 56, of Wellsburg, WV passed away December 23, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA, after a long battle with liver disease that she fought for nearly eight years. Julie was born July 21, 1968, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She served as President of the board which runs the Brooke Hills Playhouse for almost 20 years, as well as a member of the Brooke Hills Park Board, and Brooke County Arts Council. Julie always put others before herself and spread joy and fun wherever she went. She is survived by her parents, Diana and Joseph Mendel; her husband, Clay Barnhart; her daughter, Chelsey Barnhart; her son and daughter-in-law, Mason and Sarah Barnhart; her brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Cara Mendel; and her sister-in-law, Patti Barnhart. Julie was also the best “Gammy” to her two grandchildren, Samuel and Calvin Barnhart. A Memorial will be held January 3, 2025, from 4 p.m. until the time of remembrance at 7 p.m., at Reasner Funeral Home, Wellsburg. Per Julie’s wishes, there will be no funeral.
