Stephen “Sam” Samuel Pepe, Jr.

STEPHEN “SAM” SAMUEL PEPE, JR., 70, of Follansbee, WV passed away December 22, 2024, at home. He was born November 6, 1954, in Steubenville, OH to Stephen Samuel and Edna Fowler Pepe Sr. Sam retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. as a Roller Operator and was the owner of Pepe Auto Rental, and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Darla Ashbrook Pepe, who passed in 2016. He is survived by his mother; his son, Stephen “Stevie” Pepe III (Jamie) of Follansbee, WV; his daughter, Deanna Matechak (Dan) of Dupont, PA; two brothers, Anthony Pepe (Mary Kay) of Wellsburg, WV and Timmy Pepe of Medina, OH; and two grandchildren, Ethan Matechak and Aria Pepe. Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Reasner Funeral Home, Wellsburg. Liturgy of the Word service was held Monday, December 30, 2024, at the funeral home, with Father Gerald Muoka as Celebrant. Interment followed at Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee.
