Dorcas Darleen Gilliam

DORCAS DARLEEN GILLIAM, 71, of Weirton, WV, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Dorcas was born on July 17, 1953 in Bellaire, OH. She was the daughter of the late Calvin Jeffreys Sr. and Dorcas (Wright) Jeffreys. Dorcas was a member of Ferry Glenn Church of the Nazarene and worked as secretary and home health aide throughout her life. Many will remember Dorcas for her love of sports, especially Steelers football and tennis in addition to her enjoyment of gambling and bingo. In addition to her parents, Dorcas was preceded in death by her six siblings, Robert Wright, John Wright, Sharron Schybal, Hilda Jeffreys, Grace Montgomery and Brenda Taylor. Dorcas is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, William Gilliam; four children: Dorina Ashcraft, Brianna Gilliam, Marissa Gilliam and Latahnee Gilliam; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; six siblings: Calvin Jeffreys Jr., Greg Jeffreys, Randi Ray, Clara Livingston, Juanita Judie and Linda Housley; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and church family. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 11, 2024 from 11 a.m. until the time of the Homegoing Service at 1 p.m., at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, with her pastor, Rich, officiating.
