Eleanor Virginia (Board) Cooper

ELEANOR VIRGINIA (BOARD) COOPER, 96, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully at Golden Oaks Residential Board and Care in Follansbee WV on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Born on May 16, 1928, in Tiltonsville, OH, a daughter of the late Edward Asa and Lucy A. (Schucht) Board. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cooper, a daughter Stephanie Jenkins, one sister, Lucille Donley, and her brother Thomas Board. Eleanor graduated from Mingo High School in 1946 and later from Scott’s Beauty Academy. She retired from Claire’s Beauty Shop in Follansbee where she worked as a cosmetologist. She was a member of the Follansbee United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and a member of the choir. She is survived by her daughter, Rev. Nancy L. Cooper of Wilmington, NC; one grandson, Patrick Archer of St. Louis, MO; one great-granddaughter, Zelda Archer; and several nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee, where funeral services were held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, with Pastor Christine Parnell officiating.
