James Edward Maderia, Sr.

JAMES EDWARD MADERIA, SR., 59, of Weirton, WV, formerly of Follansbee, WV passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at his residence. James was born on March 10, 1965 in Steubenville, OH. He was the son of the late Cecil Maderia and Eleanor (Cross) Tharp. James worked as a tree trimmer for Aspen. Many will remember James for his love of camping, fishing, animals and nature in addition to having a mac and coke or cool beer. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his step father, Donald Tharp. James is survived by his wife, Kathleen “Kathy” Maderia; two children, James Maderia Jr. and Kylie Maderia; four grandchildren: Jaxson, Maddox, Leo and Chance; four siblings: Herman Cross, Robert Maderia, Joseph Maderia and Cindy Bailey; a long-time companion and friend, “Judy Blue”; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received on Sunday, January 19, 2025 until the time of the funeral service, at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee.
