Lesa Jeanine Cupini

LESA JEANINE CUPINI, 62, of Weirton WV died peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, with her family by her side. Born on May 4, 1962, in Wheeling, WV a daughter of the late Roger R. Virden and Lea (Wass) Shirer of Weirton, WV. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Linda Joanne Mencanin and her brother Roger Lee Virden. Lesa graduated from Brooke High School in 1980. She retired from Everett and Hurite Ophthalmology Group where she worked as an ophthalmology technician. Lesa was inspired by her faith. She was religious about her coffee and enjoyed doing crafts. In the summer she enjoyed sunbathing at the pool and going to concerts in the evening. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family where her contagious laughter made everyone smile. She will be remembered by her heart of Gold. In addition to her mother, Lesa is survived by three daughters: Jessica Cupini and husband, Jason Heckathorn, Cierra Kipp and husband Matthew, and Julia Macaluso and husband, Brandon all of Weirton, WV; one sister, Lori (Dale) Gerst of Weirton; four grandchildren: Luca, Bennett, Blake, and Lucia; and several nieces and nephews. A private family service was held at the convenience of the family. Interment followed in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton. Arrangements by Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee.
