Kathryn Elaine (Riggle) Smith

KATHRYN ELAINE (RIGGLE) SMITH, 80, of Barefoot Bay, FL, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 at William Childs Hospice House, Palm Bay, FL under the care of the staff with her husband by her side. Kathryn was born on August 31, 1944 Steubenville, OH. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth Riggle and Doris (Latimer) Riggle. Many will remember Kathryn for assisting her husband, Jerry with his construction company, J N Smith, making sure all the paperwork was complete, watching Joel Osteen every Sunday, and her love of flowers and music singing a little jingle to uplift people now and again; but most of all, just being an amazing homemaker and a kind person. Kathryn was deeply loved by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her sister, Flora Lee Burch and her husband, Clifford. Kathryn is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Nelson Smith; a step son, Jerry N. Smith and his wife, Kathy; a grandson, Robert M Smith and his spouse; three great grandchildren; two siblings, Bill Riggle of Daytona Beach, FL and Thomas Riggle and his wife, Lana of Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received on Friday, January 31, 2025 and again on Saturday, February 1, 2025 until the time of the funeral service, at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee.
