Jerry Peter Cassandra

JERRY PETER CASSANDRA, 88, of Wellsburg, WV passed away February 17, 2025, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born May 19, 1936, in Wheeling, WV to the late Orlando and Rena Baccheschi Cassandra. He was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He retired from Norteman Meats and Specialty in Elm Grove, Wheeling, WV having served 35 years, of which he started in outside sales and at retirement, he was vice president of the company. Shortly after, he accepted a position with the Brooke County Assessor’s Office and worked for 10 years until his final retirement. Jerry was a very active in church, avid Notre Dame Fan and his happy places were gardening and hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Nele. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sally Young Cassandra, who he married July 15, 1961; his faithful companion, Bella; his sister, Patty Gromczweski Cassandra (Michael) of Follansbee, WV; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Strope and Shirley Georgetti; and several nieces, nephew, and cousins also. The family would like to give a special thanks to Karen Labishak, who was his personal care giver, and Valley Hospice for their exceptional and compassionate care for Jerry. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will take place at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Friday, February 21, 2025, at 11 a.m., with Father Justin Golna as Celebrant.
