Joann Gulick Mueller

JOANN GULICK MUELLER, of Weirton, WV passed away on February 18, 2025, at Brightwood Center in Follansbee. She was born on January 23, 1937, the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Marut Gulick. In her early years, Joann attended Weir High School. She later dedicated 20 years of service as a K-Mart employee and spent 5 years as a beloved lunch lady at Madonna High School. A devoted member of her community, Joann was active in St. Joseph’s Christian Mothers, served as a Eucharistic Minister, and led as a Girl Scout troop leader. Joann will be fondly remembered for her love of bingo, crafting, yard sales, and traveling. She had the prettiest smile, which could brighten any room. She was blessed to share her life with her late husband, Marlin Lon Mueller. Together, they found joy in simple pleasures—watching hummingbirds, taking scenic drives, and cherishing one another’s company. Joann was a devoted and faithful wife to Marlin throughout their journey together. In addition to her parents and husband, Joann was preceded in death by her brother, John Gulick, and her daughter-in-law, Twyla Mueller. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, John Mueller; daughters, Cathy (Jack) Arango and Monica (Jamie) Peklinsky; grandchildren, Ashley Martinez, Jack “Jackson” G. (Sadie) Arango, Alexis “Lexi” (Frank) Budrevich, and Liam Peklinsky; and great-grandchildren, Lena, Lucy, Silvija, Charlotte “Charlie,” Arlan, Coraline “Cora,” and Petra. Honoring Joann’s wishes, she was cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home Crematory. A Memorial Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart of Mary Church on Saturday, February 22, 2025, with Fr. Tom Marut and Fr. Dennis R. Schuelkens Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Joseph the Worker Church or Sacred Heart of Mary Church, both in Weirton.
