Lauren Alwilda (Lupinetti) Sumers

LAUREN ALWILDA (LUPINETTI) SUMERS, 63, of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at home. Lauren was born on June 19, 1961 in Weirton, WV. She was the daughter of the late Thomas J. Lupinetti and Dorothy (Lauck) Lupinetti. Lauren was a graduate of Brooke High School and went on to graduate from Wheeling Barber College. Following her graduation, Lauren began working for Paul’s Barber Shop, Weirton, WV. Cutting hair was what Lauren loved and excelled at with her passion spanning nearly three decades. An avid reader, Lauren spent many evenings nestled up on the couch deep in a Stephen King novel. She spent many Sundays with friends boating on the Ohio River. Blessed with the gift of GAB, Lauren enjoyed telling stories of her life including a once in a lifetime trip to New York City’s famed Studio 54. Lauren’s biggest joy came in the form of her grandchildren. A love spanning any distance – Kam, Jack, Char and Elle J. They could do no wrong in her eyes and it was them who displayed genuine happiness in her life. Lauren is survived by her daughter, Ashley E. Summers; grandchildren: Kamryn Lane Bailey, Jackson Thomas Owens, Charlee Elizabeth Owens and Elliott Jean Summers; a sister, Janice M. Haynes; and a dear friend, William “Bill” Mehalik, all of Weirton, WV; and several cousins, nieces and friends and extended family members.
