LOIS JOSEPHINE (FALGIANI) CARPINI, 97, of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Serra Manor, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 25, 1927, in Weirton, Lois was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bernadette (Barnes) Falgiani. Lois dedicated her life to education, beginning her teaching career at St. Joseph the Worker Grade School. She spent one-year teaching fourth grade before becoming the beloved first-grade teacher from 1960 until her retirement in 1989. She left a lasting impact on generations of students, instilling a love for learning and a foundation of faith. In her retirement, Lois found joy in quilting and was an active member of the Panhandle Piecemakers Quilt Club, earning numerous ribbons for her beautiful creations. She was also a dedicated volunteer at the Hancock County Museum, serving on its Board of Directors for many years. A devout Catholic, Lois was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph the Worker Church, a devoted member of the Christian Mothers, and a strong woman of faith. Above all, Lois cherished her family. She adored her children and grandchildren, finding her greatest joy in their love and presence. Her legacy of kindness, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Mr. Joseph D. Carpini. Lois is survived by her son Joel (Debbie) Carpini, daughter Jolene (Paul) Zuros, grandchildren Cara Jo (Christopher) Mendel, Joseph (Emily) Carpini, Paul “PJ” (Abigail) Zuros, Natalie (Andrew) Liounis, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends can visit Lois’ family on Saturday, March 1,2025, from 9 a.m. until her 10 a.m. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial, at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton. Fr. Anthony G. Thurston will preside. Entombment will follow immediately at St. Paul Cemetery. Lois’ request for cremation will be honored. She will be cremated at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Crematory, Weirton.
