Artie Harold Sauvageot

ARTIE HAROLD SAUVAGEOT, 78, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025, with his loving children by his side at Valley Hospice Care North in Steubenville, OH. Born August 23, 1946, in Wheeling, WV a son of the late Howard “Bud” and Mary Teresa (McGonigal) Sauvageot. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, John H. 2001, Richard 1950, Matthew Brett 2001, and Dean Luke Sauvageot 2019; and a sister-in-law Sherri Sauvageot 2019. Artie graduated from Wheeling High School. He attended Linsley Military Institue and was a proud USA Army Veteran. Artie was a former employee of Eagle Manufacturing Company. He owned and operated Tri Area Amusement Company until 1998 and was employed at Viper Office. Artie was catholic by faith and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Over the years he supported many local youth organizations and charities. Artie loved spending time with his family especially during Thanksgiving when his favorite meal was served, turkey, all the fixings, and pumpkin pie. He loved his pets and spoiling his dogs Oscer and Romeo. He is survived by his girlfriend, Jodi Henline at home; two sons, C. Scott and wife Janeen and Phillip A Sauvageot both of Follansbee, WV; two daughters, Latricia N. Utt and husband, Shawn of Weirton, WV and Penny L. Durbin and husband, Steve of Follansbee; one brother, Mark Sauvageot of Connecticut; six grandchildren: Gavin Utt and companion, Grace Barmore, Gage Utt and companion, Bella Swiger, Kaitlyn and Clair Sauvageot, and Madison and Brody Durbin; one great-grandson, Cooper Utt; three half-brothers, Sean, Jason, and Tyson Sauvageot of FL; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces, and great-great-nephews and nieces. There was no visitation. A graveside service was held at Oak Grove Cemetery with inurnment following. Arrangements by Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee.
