Toni Lynn Mitchell

TONI LYNN MITCHELL, 37, of Colliers, WV, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital, Weirton, WV. Toni was born on September 17, 1987 in Weirton, WV. She was the daughter of James Mitchell of Florida and the late Martha Spears. Toni was a 2006 graduate of Brooke High School and worked many years as a Certified Nurse’s Aide. Many will remember Toni for her beloved dog, Bootsy, watching the TV show Evil; but most of all, being a mother to her two daughters even when life was hard with her battle through cancer. In addition to her mother, Toni was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Sandy Yost, maternal grandfathers, John Spears and Neil Buono. In addition to her biological father, James and the one she always called dad, William Buono of Follansbee, WV, Toni is survived by her two daughters, Kylie and Chloe McClain of Colliers, WV; two siblings, Kelli Rine and her husband, Jeffrey of Weirton, WV and John Mitchell of Colliers; a niece, Kyrah; maternal grandmother, Margaret Spears of Colliers; paternal grandmother, Patricia Buono of Follansbee; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends were received on Friday, April 4, 2025 until the time of the funeral service, at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, with her uncle, Frank Spears, officiating.
