Ronald Paul Haggerty, Sr.

RONALD PAUL HAGGERTY, SR., 73, of Weirton, WV, passed Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born August 29, 1951 in Weirton, son of the late Paul and Madeline Metheny Haggerty. He is also preceded in death by brother, Harry “Dan” Haggerty; stepbrothers, Gary Miley and John Miley; and stepsister, Carol Bartlett. Ron is a Marine Corps veteran. He retired from Weirton Police Department with over 21 years of service, as an Officer and Detective. He later worked as a Bailiff at Hancock County Courthouse. Ron was a member of Paris Sportsmen’s Club, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 84, and current Commander of American Legion Post No. 10, where he proudly served with the military funeral honor guard. He enjoyed golfing, shooting pool, and hunting. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Paula Christian Haggerty; daughters, Belinda Haggerty and Stacy Higginbotham (Tim); sons, Ron Haggerty, Jr. and Tracy Haggerty; stepson, J Thomas Keeder (Miranda); 11 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Visitation was held Monday, April 21, 2025, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home, Weirton, where the funeral service was held Tuesday, April 22, 2025, with Reverend Larry Barkley presiding. Interment followed at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, where military funeral honors were rendered by US Marine Corps and American Legion Post No. 10 Honor Guards.
