Elizabeth “Betty” (Freeland) Fluharty

ELIZABETH “BETTY” (FREELAND) FLUHARTY, 90, of Wellsburg, WV passed away April 24, 2025. She was born on February 8, 1935, in Wellsburg WV, a daughter of the late Russell and Ila (Main) Freeland. She is also preceded in death by her husband Walter “Warren” Fluharty, her daughter, Deborah “Debbie” (Fluharty) Conniff, son-in-law, Bernard “Buzz” Conniff Jr., grandson, Jonathan Noon, two brothers, James and Arley Freeland, and two sisters, Audrey Predmore and June Davidson. Surviving are oher son, Douglas Fluharty of Wheeling, WV; one daughter, Donna Wilson and husband Robert Jr. of Vine Grove KY; four grandchildren, Melissa (Charles) Och, Joshua and Jason Wilson, and Shawn Fluharty; and three great-grandchildren, Haley Wilson and Chelsea and Dylan Och. Betty was a member of the Kadesh Chapel United Methodist Church in Beech Bottom, W.V. She was a devoted mother and homemaker who provided a beautiful and gracious home that was comfortable for her family to be raised in. She loved to cook and host family get togethers for holidays and Sunday Dinners. She led a very active life and made many friends throughout her years that included but is not limited to her Bunco club, her bowling team (The Pin Pals), Bible study, previous employment at Tradet Laboratories and Oglebay park gift shop. She loved the time she spent with family and friends and loved to travel. Her passing will leave a void her family cannot fill. The family would like to offer a very sincere thank you to the two caregivers that Betty had. Audrey Holden for her many years of friendship she shared with Betty until the very end. Her compassion and love she had for her was a blessing to us all. And Justina Haught, for the kindness and care you showed our mother during her difficult journey. Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Reasner Funeral Home, Wellsburg. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the funeral home, with Pastor Craig Blankenship officiating. Interment followed at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Wellsburg.
