Wellsburg American Legion Post 34 News

Post 34 Wellsburg American Legion Baseball Team will host “American Legion Day” on Saturday, June 21, at 1 p.m., at the Brooke High School baseball field to honor veterans and raise money in support of veterans.
Beginning June 25, all games will be played at 6 p.m. The first game will take place at Brooke High School baseball field. The baseball team will be playing the best of five series against the Brilliant American Legion for the “Commander’s Cup”. On June 26, the game will take place on Brilliant’s turf. More information will be available at the first game concerning location of the following four games. The Post is inviting everyone to come out to the games to support our veterans and cheer on their teams.
Post 34 would also like to thank everyone who bought raffle tickets for the May 31 quilt raffle. The winner was Robert Lisbon, a local veteran and Post 34 member. The monies raised have been donated to area Helping Heroes program. A special thank you to Ms. Heather Tokas, a local business owner, who designed, made and then donated the quilt for the fundraiser. Post 34 also thanks The Brooke County Review, who graciously allowed the quilt to be publicly displayed in their window for marketing of the raffled quilt. There will be another quilt for raffle for Veteran’s Day in November.
