JACK HENRY HEDMOND, 84, of Follansbee, WV, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025 at his residence under the care of his son with the assistance of Amedisys Hospice. Jack was born on November 12, 1940 in Follansbee, WV. He was the son of the late Jack Hedmond and Lena (Petrelle) Hedmond. A devout member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Follansbee, WV, Jack was deeply rooted in his faith and proudly served with the Knights of Columbus. Jack earned a teaching degree from the former West Liberty State College, now West Liberty University. He was a passionate coin collector, a great athlete in his younger years, and the former owner of Johnnie’s Pizza. Jack retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel after many years of dedicated service as a foreman. He had a deep love for his dogs over the years, especially his beloved dog, Lady. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen “Honey” (Eiben) Hedmond; two sons, Anthony Michael Hedmond and John Jack Hedmond; a granddaughter, Brittany Hedmond; and two siblings, Florence Knight and Robert Hedmond. Jack is survived by his three children: Sherri Byers of Follansbee, WV, Terri Eltringham of Fort Myers, FL, and Gabriel Hedmond of Follansbee; six grandchildren: Mikayla Hedmond, Alissa Loebig, Emily Byers, Rylee Hedmond Barry, Nicklaus Eltringham, and Jaclin Hedmond; three great grandchildren: Lazaro, Cristiano, and Adalina; a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Zak and her husband, John Jr. “Bunny”; and several nieces and nephews to include JoAnn Wells. A private interment was held at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee.
