Ronald C. Bottorf, Sr.

RONALD C. BOTTORF, SR., 89, of Follansbee, WV, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 27, 2025 at his residence under the care of his family with the assistance of Amedisys Hospice. Ronald was born on October 8, 1935 in Weirton, WV. He was the son of Cecil C. Bottorf and Lucille (Ice) Bottorf. Ronald proudly dedicated many years of service as a Steelworks Welder at Weirton Steel Corporation, retiring from the Construction and Maintenance Departments. A valued member of the Weirton Steel 25-Year Club, he took great pride in his career and actively participated in many of the club’s events. He will be fondly remembered for his deep love of deer hunting, his talent for gardening, and his skill and passion for building and repairing cars. In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Barbara (Jackson) Bottorf. Ronald is survived by his two children: Ronald C. Bottorf II and his wife, Carrie of Colliers, WV and Brenda Bottorf Wojcik of Follansbee, WV; five grandchildren: Katy A. Wojcik, Jake Wojcik, Ronald “Trey” C. Bottorf III, Robert “Rob” C. Bottorf and his fiancé, Lauren Schram and John L. Black and his wife, Sara; two great grandchildren, Jake and Alice Wojcik and several nieces and nephews. A private viewing was held, followed by a private graveside service at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, with Chaplain Jon Hudnall of Amedisys Hospice officiating.
