BHP to Present Fourth Show of the Season

Brooke Hills Playhouse announces its fourth show of the season, “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe,” will be presented August 1-3 and 8-10. This play is dramatized by Joseph Robinette from the story by C. S. Lewis.
The traditional children’s show will have children of all ages on stage, along with a few adults, to recreate the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia.
The action features chases, duels, and escapes as the witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and to end the reign of Aslan. This story of love, faith, courage, and giving, with its triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life.
Director Chelsey Barnhart from Wellsburg relates how important this production is. “My mother, Julie Barnhart, directed the chil-dren’s show for 20 years. She passed away last December. One of the reasons I am directing this show is that I remember my mom talking about doing it again. I want to honor her always; my only hope is that I can produce a show comparable to her efforts. But that has been extremely difficult without her guidance and support. Luckily, I have a cast, some of whom acted under my mom, who are energetic and up to the task.”
Cast members include Jake Keener-Welsch from Wellsburg as Aslan; Alexandra Elise from Follansbee as the White Witch; Kami Martin from Woodsfield, OH as Lucy; Jarek DeVault from Weirton as Edmund; Adina Williams from Burgettstown, PA as Susan; and Sophia Morris from Follansbee as Peter.
Supporting characters include Aalyah Kocher from Wellsburg as Mr. Beaver; Ana Parissi from Wintersville, Oh as Mrs. Beaver; Kamryn Lloyd from Wellsburg as Unicorn; Chasity Stevey from Wellsburg as Centaur; Riley Kelly from Follansbee as Tumnus; Mad-ison Mayfield from Colliers as Fenrus Ulf; Sumeria Leonard from Wellsburg as Dwarf; Dan Harry from Bethany as Father Christ-mas; Emma Morris from Follansbee as Elf; and Sicilia Klick from Wellsburg as White Stag.
