DR. MILDRED L. (SOMON) MANI, 78, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 7, 2025 at her residence with her caregiver and friend, Brenda Clark with the assistance of Amedisys Hospice. Mildred was born on November 23, 1946 in Wheeling, WV. She was the daughter of the late Samuel “Sam” Somon and Pearl (Reece) Somon. Mildred was a dedicated teacher and also worked in the billing department for a local doctor, always bringing both diligence and compassion to her work. She possessed a natural and deeply personal instinct to care for others—always ready to help, always concerned for those around her, and consistently putting the needs of others ahead of her own without hesitation. Mildred found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially shopping—she loved to shop and shop and shop, always in search of the perfect gift or special treasure. Her warmth, caring nature, and generous spirit has left a lasting impression, and she will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her two baby sons, Mathew and M., and her sister, Martha Bauer. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Meera, her nephew, Eric Bauer and her dear friend, Brenda Clark.
